Course Information
This training course is designed to meet the requirements for training in line with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER 1998) for safety in the use of Abrasive Wheels. As such it is essential that all workshop personnel are trained in the adjusting, assembling and changing of Abrasive Wheels.
Course Overview
The course covers the following:
- Hazards/Types of accidents
- Types of Wheels
- Wheel Markings
- British Standard Marking System
- Storage, handling and transportation
- Methods of Testing: The Ring Test
- Lotters, flanges, locknuts, mounting and balancing
- Wheel dressing
Half-Day training courses can be combined with other Half-Day courses to make a full day training.
How long is the course?
The Abrasive Wheels is a Half-Day training course. We ask all trainees to be on site for 08:00.
The course will start shortly after and normally finishes between 12:00 & 12:30. we can also start the course at 12.30 finishing at 16.00/16.30
Where is Abrasive Wheels training held?
We can facilitate Abrasive Wheels training across all 7 of our regional Training Centres – Blackburn, Blackpool, Preston, Lancaster, Manchester, Warrington and Castleford. If you require on-site training please contact us directly and it can be arranged.
What is included?
- Abrasive Wheels, Training manuals and certificates are included in the price.
- Candidates will be required to bring with them their PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
